One of my favorite things about making products is learning about ingredients.
Not just what they do, but where they come from, how they've been used, and the traditions surrounding them.
At Railflower, you'll find ingredients and inspiration from many different parts of the world. Some come from Morocco, Chad, Brazil, Honduras, India, and Asia. Others come from right here in the United States. Some are familiar. Others may be completely new.

What interests me most isn't how rare or exotic an ingredient is. It's the history behind it, the people who have used it, and the role it has played in everyday life.
This journal is a place to share some of what I'm learning along the way. We'll talk about ingredients, traditional beauty practices, product ingredients, and the things that catch my attention and send me down another rabbit hole.
Whether you're here because you enjoy skincare, hair care, botanical ingredients, or simply learning something new, I'm glad you're here.
